Tampa Bay Lightning play in the Eastern Atlantic.

Tampa Bay Lightning overview

Hockey on the Gulf Coast has produced three Stanley Cups for the Tampa Bay Lightning, who won in 2004, 2020, and 2021 and play in the Atlantic Division at Benchmark International Arena in downtown Tampa. The Lightning also reached the Final in 2015 and 2022, making them one of the most successful teams of the past decade-plus. Tampa's warm-weather location makes it a popular destination for visiting fans, especially from Canada and the Northeast. For bettors, a long stretch as a contender has given the Lightning a strong public following, which can affect how their moneyline and puck line are priced.

Betting insights

Because Tampa Bay has spent so many seasons as a contender, its games often attract public support, which can make the Lightning's moneyline expensive. When they are favored, many bettors look at the -1.5 puck line, but two-goal margins are never guaranteed. Atlantic Division travel is lengthy for Tampa, with most opponents in the Northeast and Canada. The Battle of Florida with the Panthers has produced several intense playoff series. For totals, confirmed goalies and special teams matter most, and visiting crowds from Canada can make some home games feel like neutral-site affairs.
