Tennessee Titans play in the AFC South.

Tennessee Titans overview

The Tennessee Titans began as the Houston Oilers, a charter member of the American Football League in 1960 founded by Bud Adams, whose family still owns the team. The franchise moved to Tennessee in 1997, playing a season in Memphis and another at Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville before opening its own stadium on the east bank of the Cumberland River in 1999, when it took the Titans name. Tennessee competes in the AFC South with the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars. A new enclosed stadium is under construction next to Nissan Stadium.

Betting insights

Nissan Stadium is open-air, and late-season games in Nashville can bring cold, rain and wind, though conditions are generally milder than in the northern AFC venues. The stadium switched from natural grass to artificial turf in 2023, so home-field trends from the grass era may not carry over. AFC South games often feature tight spreads because the division has rarely been dominated by one team for long. The Titans have historically leaned on physical rushing attacks in many eras, which can shorten games and influence totals, but roster turnover means bettors should evaluate each season on its own. Tennessee is not typically a heavily public team, so lines usually reflect power ratings.
