Tampa Bay Buccaneers play in the NFC South.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers overview

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers entered the NFL as an expansion team in 1976 and have been owned by the Glazer family since 1995. After one season in the AFC West and a long run in the NFC Central, they moved to the NFC South in 2002, where they compete with the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints. Tampa Bay plays at Raymond James Stadium, an open-air venue known for the pirate ship in its north end zone that fires cannons after scores. The Buccaneers have won two Super Bowls, the second in their own stadium.

Betting insights

Early-season heat and humidity at Raymond James Stadium can wear on visiting teams from northern climates, and afternoon thunderstorms are common in Tampa in September and October, sometimes causing lightning delays. Later in the season, conditions become pleasant and largely neutral. The natural grass surface is generally well-regarded. NFC South games often feature competitive spreads because the division has frequently been decided by narrow margins. Tampa Bay is a mid-sized market, and outside of the Brady years it has not been a heavily backed public team, so lines usually reflect power ratings. Late-season trips to cold-weather cities provide the biggest contrast with home conditions.
