Minnesota Vikings play in the NFC North.

Minnesota Vikings overview

The Minnesota Vikings entered the NFL as an expansion team in 1961 and compete in the NFC North with the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. Owned by the Wilf family since 2005, the Vikings play at U.S. Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis, a fixed-roof venue with a translucent ETFE roof and a dramatic prow-shaped design. The team has a long tradition of strong defenses and explosive receivers, along with a history of near-misses: the Vikings have won many division titles but remain without a Super Bowl championship.

Betting insights

U.S. Bank Stadium's fixed roof and artificial turf make home games weather-proof, so totals are driven entirely by matchups. The building is one of the loudest in the league, which can disrupt visiting offenses. Division road games vary widely: Detroit's Ford Field is indoors, while trips to Green Bay and Chicago in December can bring cold and wind. Minnesota has a loyal fan base but is not typically one of the most heavily backed public teams nationally, so lines generally reflect power ratings. NFC North games have been tightly contested in many seasons, making 3 and 7 important numbers.
