The Chicago Bears are one of the NFL's founding franchises, organized in 1920 as the Decatur Staleys before moving to Chicago in 1921 and adopting the Bears name in 1922. George Halas served as founder, player, coach and owner, and his family still controls the team. Chicago competes in the NFC North with the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions, and it plays at Soldier Field on the shore of Lake Michigan. The Bears and Packers have played more games against each other than any other pair of NFL teams.
