Dallas Mavericks play in the Western Southwest.

Dallas Mavericks overview

The Dallas Mavericks compete in the Southwest Division of the Western Conference and play at American Airlines Center in the Victory Park area of Dallas. The franchise is defined by Dirk Nowitzki, who played 21 seasons in Dallas and led the Mavericks to the 2011 championship. For bettors, Dallas sits in a large, betting-friendly market with plenty of in-state rivalries, as the Southwest Division includes Houston and San Antonio along with Memphis and New Orleans. Major roster moves in recent seasons, most notably the February 2025 trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Lakers, mean bettors should rate the Mavericks on current personnel rather than reputation.

Betting insights

The Mavericks' market profile changed after the Doncic trade, so older trends tied to his usage and pace are no longer reliable guides. Treat Dallas as a team whose rotation and offensive identity should be assessed from current-season data, particularly after trades or injuries. In-state games against Houston and San Antonio often draw strong local betting interest and can carry extra intensity. Dallas is in the Central time zone, so Western road trips are lighter than they are for East Coast teams, but trips to Denver, Utah, and the Pacific coast still matter. Watch injury news closely, since roster depth has shifted frequently.
